18th Auguest - Yashwantrao Mohite Mahavidyalay, Ayurved Mahavidyalay - Wagholi & MITCOE

First of all very very sorry for the late reply. Due to some technical difficulties I couldn't write the blog yesterday night.

The first two colleges that performed yesterday were very ordinary. One of them dealt with the bomb blast issue and the other one dealt with memories of an old man. Both the performances were far below the average level. There is nothing to say about these two performances. I can give them rating as 2 and 2.5 respectively.

The colleges that performed was MITCOE - last year's Purushottam winers. Being a writer of the play - i won't be giving them the rating as such.

MITCOE - Serial Killers

Writer : Girish Datar
Director : Shweta Pethkar

Subject : Unwanted pregnancies / subsequent abortions and all the socio-political , economical complexities associated with it.

Review : I welcome someone to write a review on this play. You can refer my previous reviews.

Thanks
Girish

  2. Girish...
First of all i really appreciate that you did not write anything about your own drama and you want us (audience) to say about the same.

Well from my point of view, i really liked the concept. In last few years, no one has pointed this unwanted pregnancies issue in the way you did.

    STORY AND WRITING :
The story was End to End. And the phrases, terminologies used in dialogues were too good (as usual, Girish Datar's play :P). There is always a very thin line between being BOLD and VULGAR. and that line was always there in the whole drama. It was today's issue and perfectly placed in front of people.

    ACTING:
It was pleasure to see last year's Keshavrao playing 3-4 small (but different) roles. Girl (sorry i forgot the name - i think Shyai) playing the central character of the story was amazing with her baring, But some times i found her tone monotonous (yeah, drama was talkative but still).
The most impressive character, apart from Shyai, was the Chaywala (in second last scene).

    LIGHTS:
Good (except the 2 fringes in first scene, as it was very disturbing when characters were moving, i was sitting in the balcony and sharing my experience with you).

    MUSIC:
Well it was supportive. But can be improved. Sometimes even music can get monotonous. But if it is need of the play then that is OK.

    SET:
Small and Sweet but supportive. Use of "Kangaroo's Pouch as a Dustbin" was amazing. Hats off to the person who suggested it.

    RATING:
    8.5/10
